Coach's Eye - Video Analysis App Reviews

Love it... Just wish it...

Im a professional golf instructor in San Diego, CA and I do like this app. I guess the only think I wish it did was auto load videos taken in the app, into my Photos/Videos file. The reason is sometimes Ill want to email vids taken in the app, out from my iPad to myself via email so I can edit videos and combine/edit them in a separate software on my laptop to show Before vs. After which I then load back into the CoachesEye app and compare Before v. After compared to some pros swings. But other than that I love it.

Not Great. Clunky and somewhat confusing.

You better be a very techy person before subscribing to this software package. Its clunky and awkward to use. Most of the coaches I know want to use their iPhone to capture slow motion baseball swings on the iPhone. But then editing on the iPhone is nearly impossible since you want to be able to use the illustrator tools to point out issues with the batters swing for example. Therefore it makes sense to edit on something larger like the iPad. This is tough to pull off because you then have to move a very larger video to the iPad. The coaches locker is really confusing because you end up with videos all over the place. Granted I only invested about three hours trying to learn this. If you have more time that that to master it, then maybe youll do better than I did. I subscribed to a $60 annual package. When it was time to bill be for the second year, Techsmith sent a warning email that it would be billing my credit card in two weeks. However there is no link to cancel. In the app there is no place to cancel. On the web there is no place to cancel. Instead TechSmith gives you instructions to cancel using your APPLEID in the phones settings where you manage subscriptions. HOwever, nowhere in there was my Coaches Eye subscription listed. This means you gave to submit a support ticket. Im assuming the support folks will cancel the sub for me. Thats where Im at now. I wish this were simpler to use because its a great tool. But for the average 9-14 year old baseball coach, its too clunky and confusing.

Love this app

Its a great help in working with my volleyball team.

Love Coachs Eye

One of my favorite apps for convincing players that they do things differently than they think. Great tool for learning and explaining the fundamentals of any movement. A must have for coaches!

Ceo

Terrible !!!! Horrible !!!! I ordered the version the day it came out and once I loaded all my videos they change the UI. And I dont have enough space to hold my videos

Good app

App works well. Seems a little to complex to send videos to others for evaluation etc. Need to be able to simply select and send within a few clicks

Awesome coaching tool

Best throwing coaches app Ive found.

Great coaching tool

Great coaching tool

Extraordinarily Useful!

Extraordinarily useful. Allows you to analyze any sports technique. Would be severely injured without it. Simple to use and intuitive. Also extraordinarily dependable.

Great for marching band

Im a drum corps, marching band, winter Drumline and winter color guard instructor. I use this app with all of my ensembles. Its a fantastic teaching tool to show your students how theyre moving in both an individual and full ensemble setting. Its great for cleaning marching techniques as well as body movement on the individual level and great when reviewing performances for the full ensemble. It really opens up the performers eyes to a lot of things. I would strongly encourage other instructors in the marching arts activity to utilize this tool in their own ensembles.

Need a full screen mode

Updated 1-14-2016 I still loooove Coaches Eye. I just got the iPad pro and the iPhone 6s Plus. The iPad pro can shoot 120fps and the iPhone 6s Plus can shoot 240fps. Thats quite high speed. This is a great way to shoot high speed slow-mo video. And then play it back for my students. Quickly and easily. Or I can share the video with a colleague either through the app or exporting the video directly to Dropbox. Or I can use the Open-in command to edit the video in Pinnacle Pro. The scroll wheel is nice to be able to spin the wheel to get quickly to where you want in a video or precisely step by step frame by frame though a video. Feature Request update.... 1)Manual setting for the video camera. Shutter speed, ISO, Manual Focus, white balance, etc. 2) some simple editing functions such as cut clip. If I want advanced editing I can use Pinnacle Pro. But I would like to be able to trim a clip to cut out all the unnecessary parts.

Outstanding coaching tool for tennis!

This has been incredibly helpful for my students to see their form in slow motion frame by frame. It helps them make better adjustments to their stroke production.

As the baseball coach at Marshall University, I am here to say this app is incredible. We utilize this app and take full advantage of all its capabilities. Big time help to our young men... I highly recommend it!

Coach Ken

Great app. Worked great while I was having batting practice. Was able to analyze my girls swings, stance, weight transfer and their timing.
